About

I have been both a book lover and book hoarder since a pretty young age.  It all began with a Sweet Valley Twin obsession which could only be fulfilled by a trip to the local book shop and of which I still have around fifty pristine copies squirrelled away safely in my parents loft. Somewhere over the years my love of fiction switched to all things factual and these days I am never happier than when perusing the shelves of my local book shop finding the next must have titles across business, travel, psychology, popular science, economics, fitness and lots more besides.

Nonfiction Addiction has been born out of necessity as my book hoarding tendencies have reached epidemic proportions.  Not only am I amassing a small library worth of books, in my haste to devour them all and learn more, I'm not allowing myself the time to digest and soak in the information from the previous one - pretty much defeating the object of reading all these books in the first place.

So... I'm pleased to introduce Nonfiction Addiction, my new motivation to ensure I DO take the time to pause, review and reflect on each and every book before moving onto the next whilst leaving me with a lifelong log of my literary journey.

To conclude, whilst the driving force for this blog is selfish, I dare to hope that over time it might become of use and interest to others who share my love of books and learning.

My name is Rachel and I am addicted to books.
